Cherry Blossom Agate - Free Form

The names "flower agate" and "cherry blossom agate" refer to an agate, and more specifically, to a dendritic agate. It is true that "cherry blossom" sells better than "dendritic", but only the name dendritic agate is recognized by the International Mineralogy Association.

Dendritic agate has, as its name suggests, dendrites, that is, inclusions such as manganese or iron oxide that appear organic due to their leaf-like or flower-like structure.

There are significant deposits of cherry blossom agate in Madagascar.
