Aragonite was discovered by Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt in 1609. This famous mineralogist then gave it the name "stillatitius lapis". Its natural arrangement in bouquets of flowers with more or less high peaks of white, blue, green, yellow or even brown, subsequently earned it the nickname "iron flowers". Moreover, this abundant stone is still mainly used to make decorative objects, as well as costume jewelry.
