Description
Description
Gabbro is a plutonic rock of magmatic origin, formed by a progressive cooling of magma in the depths of the Earth's crust. Its name pays homage to Christian Leopold Von Buck, a German geologist (1774 - 1853) who discovered this rock during his studies on volcanic rocks in the town of Gabbro, in Tuscany, Italy. Currently, gabbro is prized for the manufacture of breakwaters, thus replacing concrete. This alternative helps promote the recolonization of substrates by corals.
