BumbleBee Jasper - Tumbled Stone

Bumblebee Jasper, although not a true jasper, is a fascinating mineral composed of calcium carbonate, enriched with inclusions of arsenic and manganese oxides. Its banded and layered patterns, reminiscent of a bumblebee, are the result of the presence of sulfur (yellow), calcium and aragonite (white), as well as orpiment and realgar (orange) and pyrite (black). Recently discovered in the 1990s within the Papandayan volcano in Indonesia, this mineral has not been found anywhere else on our planet. Geologists believe that it is unlikely that another deposit will be discovered in the near future. This natural phenomenon is exceptionally rare, deserving of celebration, respect and appreciation for its unique authenticity.
