Ocean Jasper - Tumbled Stone

Ocean Jasper, often referred to as Orbicular Jasper, is an exceptional variety of Jasper, a mineral composed of silicon dioxide and belonging to the Quartz family. What distinguishes it are its circular patterns, more or less pronounced, which evoke orbs with varied hues such as green, brown, blue, yellow, gray, white, pink or red. This rare mineral is found in only one location, a difficult to access site that presents considerable challenges for explorers. Its extraction is done at the foot of a cliff, accessible only by boat at low tide.

Ocean Jasper deposits are found in Marovato, Ambolobozo, Analalava District, Sofia Region, Mahajanga Province, and Madagascar.
