Tiger's Eye - Tumbled Stone

Tiger's Eye is a fascinating form of quartz, acting as a pseudomorph of Crocidolite. This unique mineral is created when the fibers of Crocidolite are replaced with silica, resulting in mesmerizing hues of golden browns, yellows, and beiges. First discovered in 1892 by J.D. Dana, it gets its name from its striking resemblance to a tiger's eye. The majority of Tiger's Eye stones come from South Africa, which is the primary source of this mineral treasure on the market.

The finest specimens of Tiger's Eye come mainly from Australia and South Africa. Although deposits in Brazil, India, China and the United States can occasionally offer fine specimens, their quantity remains limited.
