Prehnite - Tumbled Stone

Prehnite is a fascinating mineral, discovered in 1788 by Dutch Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who had the honor of giving it his name. This stone originated in the Karoo region of South Africa. Composed of calcium and magnesium inosilicate, Prehnite, although not officially classified as a zeolite, is often found in the same geological areas as these crystals.

Its color is a delicate pear green, but it also comes in shades of orange, yellow, white, gray, brown and light, offering a varied and attractive palette.

The main deposits of Prehnite are located mainly in South Africa and the Indian peninsula. However, production sites can also be found in the United States, Canada, Australia, as well as in several European countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany and Switzerland.
