Sulfur Quartz is a widespread mineral that occurs in a variety of forms, including masses, small prismatic crystals, large sharp points, scepters, and double-ended quartz structures. It was formerly referred to as Sulfur, due to the unpleasant rotten egg odor that is released when the crystals are struck. Its hue ranges from a pale yellow to a golden sheen, reminiscent of sunlight.

This mineral, although present in all four corners of the globe, notably in Canada, Japan and the United States, draws its fame from the major deposits found in Brazil.
